Keyword Revealer vs KWFinder (For 2024 Keyword Strategy!)
by Ankit Singla
Keyword Revealer is one of the hottest and latest KWFinder alternatives.
But is it any better?
How does it compare in terms of features, performance, and pricing?
Ladies and gents, welcome to this showdown of the best keyword research tools in 2024.
Let’s get started.
Table Of Contents
Introduction to Keyword Revealer vs KWFinder
If you’ve been following this blog, you’ll know that KWFinder belongs in my top keyword research tools of all time.
KWFinder is specifically designed to help you find long-tail keywords with low SEO difficulty.
That means keywords new bloggers are more than capable of ranking for.
It’s worth noting that KWFinder is part of Mangools – a collection of “juicy” SEO tools.
If you get KWFinder, that means you get everything under the Mangools lineup, namely:
- SERPChecker – Analyze Search Engine Results Pages or SERPs.
- SERPWatcher – Track your SEO keyword rankings.
- LinkMiner – Perform backlink analysis on any domain.
- SiteProfiler – Get website SEO metrics.
Keyword Revealer, on another note, declares itself the “ultimate” keyword research tool.
After a while of using Keyword Revealer, I can personally say that it gets the job done and more.
What does “and more” mean?
Allow me to elaborate.
Keyword Revealer can help you with long-tail keyword suggestions, competitor research, backlink analysis, and rank tracking.
While KWFinder has been around since 2014, it’s hard to pinpoint when Keyword Revealer was founded. My guess would be around 2017 since they published their first blog post on June 19, 2017.
With all that out of the way, let’s look at each tool’s pricing plans.
Keyword Revealer Pricing Plans
Let’s start with Keyword Revealer’s pricing plans:
Free | Basic | Pro | Elite | |
Price | $0 per month | $9.97 per month | $27.97 per month | $47.97 per month |
Keyword searches | 3 per day | 50 per day | 300 per day | 800 per day |
Competitor research | ✖️ | Competitor keywords only | ✔️ | ✔️ |
Keyword suggestions | 50 | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited |
Backlink analysis | ✖️ | ✖️ | 2,000 backlinks per day | 7,000 backlinks per day |
Rank tracker | ✖️ | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ |
KWFinder Pricing
Moving on, here are KWFinder’s pricing plans:
Mangools Basic | Mangools Premium | Mangools Agency | |
Price | $49 per month or $29.90 per month (paid annually) | $69 per month or $39.90 per month (paid annually) | $129 per month or $79.90 per month (paid annually) |
Keyword searches | 100 per day | 500 per day | 1,200 per day |
Competitor research | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ |
Keyword suggestions | 200 | 700 | 700 |
Backlink analysis | 100,000 backlinks per month | 500,000 backlinks per month | 1,200,000 backlinks per month |
Rank tracker | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ |
From this information alone, you should start to lean towards one particular tool.
Let’s face it – a $9.97 price tag is definitely more appealing to new bloggers than $49.
However, everybody knows that there’s more to products than just their price.
That’s why I created this post in the first place.
Without further ado, let’s start this comparison.
1. Usability
Usability is always important in a blogging tool.
It’s not rocket science.
A well-designed, user-friendly interface saves time. And for a blogger, time is money.
That said, here’s a close-up look at Keyword Revealer and KWFinder’s user interface.
Keyword Revealer: Clean interface and intuitive navigation
Let’s get one thing straight: Keyword Revealer features a plain and clutter-free interface.
Upon logging in, you’re immediately taken to the keyword research page – the centerpiece of the Keyword Revealer platform.
We’ll explore this tool in detail later. For now, let’s just focus on Keyword Revealer’s usability factor.
As you can probably tell, using Keyword Revealer doesn’t necessarily require a tutorial.
For the most part, you just need to enter a keyword or a URL to get things done.
That applies to every tool Keyword Revealer brings to the table.
By the way, you can quickly access the entire lineup via the left menu.
Before we move on to KWFinder, there’s one more thing I’d like to talk about.
When it comes to user experience, speed is very important.
I’m not just referring to page loading speed.
If you’re doing research for hours on end, the time it takes to pull up results also matters.
After running multiple tests, I learned that it takes Keyword Revealer an average of 3.85 seconds to get results.
Here’s one more thing you ought to know.
As of writing this post, I keep getting a minor bug on Keyword Revealer’s current version.
Upon typing in a URL and pressing the ‘return’ key (‘Enter’ on Windows devices), Keyword Revealer simply reloads the page.
That means you have to click the ‘Search’ button with your mouse if you want it to work.
It’s definitely not a deal-breaker. I also believe this will be an easy fix for Keyword Revealer’s development team.
However, it’s one thing to keep in mind should you choose Keyword Revealer as your go-to keyword research tool.
Keyword Revealer Usability Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
Keyword Revealer is undeniably fast and user-friendly. But the minor bug I mentioned above is keeping it from getting a perfect score.
KWFinder: Well-designed platform that generates quick results
As far as design goes, KWFinder is the polar opposite of Keyword Revealer.
While Keyword Revealer’s design is monochromatic, KWFinder’s design language incorporates brilliant colors.
You will notice this as soon as you fire up the keyword research tool.
Fortunately, KWFinder’s colors are not just for show.
For example, when looking at keyword ideas, KWFinder uses colors to represent the keyword difficulty.
The redder the number, the more difficult it is to rank for that particular keyword.
KWFinder also uses contrasting colors for important elements, like buttons, selected items, and the search volume trend chart.
Now – let’s talk about navigation.
From KWFinder, you can launch other Mangools tools from the collapsible menu to the left.
Again, everything is color-coded to make specific tools easier to spot.
The downside here is that it takes longer to load other tools within Mangools.
That’s probably the trade-off of creating a modular platform built with a handful of separate tools.
On the plus side, KWFinder, along with other Mangools tools, can get results fast.
I mean, really fast.
Based on my experience, it takes KWFinder an average of 1.76 seconds to get keyword research results.
That includes keyword suggestions, search volume, CPC, and so on.
KWFinder Usability Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars
KWFinder is a well-designed and fast piece of software that can get results in a flash.
If we’re looking at KWFinder as a standalone tool, it deserves five out of five stars. But since it’s a part of a bigger library of tools, it loses points due to loading speed issues.
2. Keyword Research
You can’t write a post about Keyword Revealer and KWFinder without checking their keyword research capabilities.
In blogging, keyword research can make or break your traffic.
From a content research perspective, picking the right keywords ensures you write about topics people actually care about. And when it comes to SEO, the right keywords can mean the difference between obscurity and Google’s first page.
Keyword Revealer: Nothing short of impressive
Keyword Revealer is a powerful keyword research tool – there’s no question about that.
More importantly, it makes keyword research look easy with its clean and straightforward interface.
To use Keyword Revealer for keyword research, you can start by entering either a seed keyword or URL.
Just be sure to specify the right option from the drop-down menu.
Of course, you shouldn’t forget to set the right location and language for your keyword search.
Below is a quick look at Keyword Revealer’s research results for the keyword “page builder.”
To the right of each keyword suggestion, you’ll find various metrics that will help you gauge their viability.
Here’s a quick rundown of each metric:
- Monthly Volume – Measures the average monthly searches for a keyword within the specified search location.
- Volume Trends – Visualizes the keyword’s search volume data over the past 12 months.
- Cost Per Click – The average cost advertisers are willing to pay per click in ad campaigns.
- Profit – Estimates the potential monthly earnings you can expect when targeting a keyword in ad campaigns.
- Words – Counts the number of words in the keyword.
- Difficulty – Measures how hard it is to rank for a given keyword on a scale of 1 to 100.
You may also notice the “Domain” column sandwiched between the “Words” and “Difficulty” metrics.
Basically, it detects whether or not the exact match domain is available for that keyword.
If any of the “.com,” “.net,” and “.org” icons are green, that means you can register an exact match domain.
For example, if the “.com” icon is green for the keyword “Elementor page builder,” you can register the domain “www.elementorpagebuilder.com.”
Finally, let’s take a look at the “Difficulty” metric.
First of all, remember to check when the metric is last updated by hovering your mouse over the number.
Sometimes, a keyword’s difficulty rating isn’t updated for as long as two years.
In which case, simply click it to have Keyword Revealer evaluate its difficulty right now. Remember that you can do the same for keywords with the ‘Evaluate’ button as their keyword difficulty rating.
After the evaluation, Keyword Revealer will take you to an in-depth report page with truckloads of keyword data.
You can check the keyword’s updated keyword difficulty rating, search volume, and so on.
Keyword Revealer will also include average SEO metrics on the top 10 results for that keyword. This is useful if you want to do a preliminary scouting of the competition.
Remember, Keyword Revealer has more competitor research tools under the hood. But we’ll get to those later.
Overall, Keyword Revealer’s keyword research firepower is nothing short of impressive.
Keyword Revealer Keyword Research Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
I personally think it’s better if Keyword Revealer collects updated keyword difficulty ratings right off the bat.
But, that minor inconvenience aside, you can’t really ask Keyword Revealer to do more. It already grabs every single piece of keyword data necessary for your SEO and PPC decisions.
KWFinder: No-nonsense keyword research at your fingertips
KWFinder has a no-nonsense, to-the-point approach to keyword research.
After running the search, you can find everything you need to know on one page.
It starts you off with a list of keyword ideas and important keyword metrics.
Before we tackle KWFinder’s keyword metrics, I’d like to point out something important.
Unlike Keyword Revealer, KWFinder makes it easy to find question-based keywords.
Just switch to the ‘Questions’ tab in the upper-right corner.
In any case, here’s a quick look at KWFinder’s keyword metrics:
- Trend – Visualizes the keyword’s search volume trend over the past 12 months.
- Search – The average monthly searches for the keyword over the past 3, 6, or 12 months.
- Average Cost Per Click – Same as Keyword Revealer’s CPC metric, only in different currencies.
- PPC – Measures the keyword’s difficulty rating for Google Ads campaigns on a scale of 1 to 100.
- Keyword Difficulty – Measures how difficult it is to rank for a keyword on a scale of 1 to 100.
On the surface, KWFinder’s keyword metrics look no better than Keyword Revealer’s.
But there are actually a few interesting things KWFinder has going for it under the hood.
For one, you can adjust the timeframe for the average monthly volume metric. You can switch between a timeframe of 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months.
This is useful for spotting recent trends and seasonal keywords.
Furthermore, KWFinder lets you change the currency for the CPC keyword metric. This will help you get accurate estimates for your PPC budget if you use a different currency.
Like what you’re seeing so far?
There’s more.
Below the keyword list, KWFinder also provides a SERP overview to help you gauge the competition.
Apart from the top results, you’ll also find relevant metrics like Domain Authority, Trust Flow, and number of backlinks.
We’ll inspect the competitive research features of both Keyword Revealer and KWFinder later.
In the meantime, let me tell you what I think about KWFinder’s keyword research features as a whole.
KWFinder Keyword Research Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
KWFinder does one heck of a job streamlining the keyword research process.
Despite the simplistic, single-page keyword research report, it manages to weave in advanced features. However, there’s one thing preventing me from giving it a perfect score.
With the basic plan, KWFinder is limited to only 200 keyword suggestions per search.
That’s huge, considering the fact that Keyword Revealer’s entry-level plan, which is much cheaper, offers unlimited keyword suggestions.
3. Keyword Research Filters
Filtering your keyword list is an essential step towards discovering profitable target keywords.
Initially, I wanted to cover keyword filters in the previous section. But since we already had a lot to unpack about keyword suggestions, I decided to write a separate section.
Keyword Revealer: Simple, effective, but can be better
Here’s the thing: keyword filters don’t have to be complicated.
That, I believe, is the philosophy of Keyword Revealer’s development team when creating the filter tool.
It is simple, easy to use, and works quickly.
To use filters, click the ‘Filter’ button located above the keyword suggestions list.
Just like that, you have a complete view of Keyword Revealer’s entire filter system.
Let’s go over your options real quick:
- Keyword Search – Specify keywords to include.
- Keyword Exclude –Specify keywords to exclude.
- Number of Words – Set your preferred keyword length by entering a minimum and maximum limit.
- Average Monthly Searches – Define the minimum and maximum search volume you want from keywords.
- Cost Per Click – Set your preferred CPC range using minimum and maximum values.
- Estimated Potential Earning – Set your desired potential earnings from ad clicks.
You can easily set filters by typing in the right values into these fields.
For example, if you want keywords with the word “WordPress,” just type it in the “Keyword Search” field.
Keyword Revealer automatically refreshes the keyword list as soon as you set a new filter.
That makes the whole experience much smoother, which is a plus if you have to do keyword research for hours.
Here’s what Keyword Revealer’s keyword list looks like with a full set of filters:
Keyword Revealer Keyword Research Filters Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars
The good news is, Keyword Revealer’s filters run like clockwork. It’s buttery smooth, simple enough to use, and effective in narrowing down your keyword list to a manageable size.
However, it doesn’t filter keywords using a crucial metric: keyword difficulty.
I sincerely hope they incorporate this feature in future versions. But right now, it gets 3.5 out of 5 stars.
KWFinder: Complete filters to snag the perfect keyword opportunities
KWFinder’s filter tool is what I want to see from modern keyword research tools.
It loads fast, works quickly, and is an absolute pleasure to use.
To configure filters, click the ‘Filter’ button above the keyword list.
This should bring up KWFinder’s keyword filter interface.
If you read about Keyword Revealer’s filter system, you should already know how KWFinder’s filters work.
You can individually configure the following filters to refine your keyword list:
- Search Volume – Set the minimum and maximum search volume limits for keyword ideas.
- CPC – Set your preferred CPC range.
- PPC – Set your preferred keyword competitiveness level for paid campaigns.
- Keyword Difficulty – Specify the keyword difficulty range for SEO keywords.
- Included Keywords – Specify keywords include.
- Excluded Keywords – Specify keywords to exclude.
- Number of Words – Set your ideal keyword length.
Additionally, you can choose to show all keywords or only those that aren’t already saved in one of your lists.
Once you’re happy with your filters, click ‘Set filter.’
This will automatically enable keyword filters in your current session.
Remember, you can quickly enable and disable keyword filters by clicking the ‘Filter’ toggle.
This can give you an idea of how many keywords were filtered out of your list.
There’s just one thing to keep in mind when using KWFinder’s filter tool.
With the basic plan, setting very specific keywords may frequently lead to the “Sorry, no keywords for given filter” page.
That’s because KWFinder will only generate up to 200 keyword ideas per search.
With such a limited pool of keywords, you need to be careful when setting up keyword filters. This, of course, wouldn’t be a problem if you have a higher-tier plan, which allows for up to 700 suggestions.
KWFinder Keyword Research Filters Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars
KWFinder’s filter tool is perfect, but only if you shell out $69 per month for the “Mangools Premium” plan.
It’s hard to maximize a filter system if there isn’t a lot of keyword suggestions to begin with. But if you bump up your account to the premium level, KWFinder’s filter tool is top-notch.
4. Competitor Keyword Research
Looking for potential keyword ideas through a seed keyword is one thing.
Looking at your competitors for proven keyword ideas is another.
Doing so has a number of huge advantages, like:
- Eliminate guesswork by stealing keyword ideas that are proven to generate traffic
- Be sure to target keywords that attract the right people
- Targeting competitor keywords lets you take their place in your audience’s eyes
- Find “low-hanging fruit” keywords that promise huge gains with low risk
- Save time and money by not betting on keywords that only bring low-quality traffic
Sounds amazing, right?
Now that I have your full attention, let’s look at the competitor keyword research features of Keyword Revealer and KWFinder.
Keyword Revealer: Great for unveiling competitor keywords
To launch a full-on analysis of your competitor’s keywords, head to the “Competitive Analysis” page.
From there, enter the URL of your competitor’s domain or a specific page. Click the magnifying glass icon to initiate the analysis.
At first, you’ll see top-secret information about your competitor.
Some of the noteworthy details are:
- Site Median Loading Time – Gets the median loading time for the domain or specific page.
- Referring Links – Measures the total number of links that point to the analyzed URL.
- Alexa Rank – Alexa Rank is a globally-recognized metric used to measure website popularity.
- Page Views Per User – This metric measures the average number of pages viewed by individual users.
- Users by Country – Calculates the traffic share of countries for the website.
You can use these pieces of information to make strategic decisions in your SEO campaign.
Measuring your competitor’s site loading time, for instance, sets the bar on how well you should optimize your website’s performance.
If you want to avoid directly competing against a popular brand, look at the “Users by Country” panel. You can then choose to optimize for countries in which your competitor has a low traffic share.
It’s all a matter of understanding what the metrics measure and what they say about your competitor’s strategy.
If you need more competitor data, your next move should be to look for more competitors.
Luckily, Keyword Revealer preemptively identifies competitors by looking for websites optimized for the same audience and keywords.
You can find them in the “Competitors by User Similarity” panel.
Moving forward, let’s take a look at your competitor’s keywords.
Keyword Revealer neatly piles them up in the “Site Keywords” section.
Based on my tests, Keyword Revealer collects a maximum of 1,000 keywords for each competitor website.
That’s a lot considering the fact that Keyword Revealer starts the list with your competitor’s top keywords.
Just remember that Keyword Revealer uses a different set of metrics for competitor keywords.
Here are the most important numbers you should be looking at:
- Search Traffic – This is a percentage value that measures a keyword’s traffic share out of all your competitor’s keywords. For example, a 10% value means the keyword generates 10% of your competitor’s traffic from organic keywords.
- Share of Voice – This metric calculates the traffic share your competitor has for a keyword from SERPs. A high value indicates they’re getting more clicks out of the top organic results for that keyword.
- Popularity – You can use the “Popularity” metric to easily pick out keywords that generate the most traffic. It is entirely based on the number of searches a keyword gets – represented on a scale of 1 to 100.
- Competition Organic – This is a version of the keyword difficulty rating that’s based on the number of organic results for a keyword. Like always, it is measured on a scale of 1 to 100 with the latter being “most competitive.”
There are a handful of other site keyword metrics you can use in your competitive analysis.
For the complete list, read my full Keyword Revealer review.
You can also use Keyword Revealer’s “Competitor Gap” tool to get competitor keyword ideas faster.
To start, switch to the ‘Competitor Gap’ tab and enter a minimum of two competitor URLs.
Within seconds, Keyword Revealer will show you a list of common keywords between all entered domains.
It’s similar to the Keyword Gap tool featured in SEMrush.
With the Competitor Gap tool, you can create a “master list” of keywords that will help build your organic presence.
That, right there, puts the “competitive” in competitive keyword analysis.
Lastly, Keyword Revealer lets you comb through your competitors’ keywords with a more comprehensive list of filters.
Fortunately, they managed to include a filter for keyword competitiveness this time around.
Why doesn’t Keyword Revealer have the same keyword filter setup for their core keyword research tool?
That’s probably because their competitor keyword research tool uses different metrics. However, I really wish they included “Keyword Difficulty” in their core keyword filter tool.
Keyword Revealer Competitor Keyword Research Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
Keyword Revealer has a great set of competitor keyword research tools.
It’s so close to getting 5 out of 5 stars. However, it’s definitely not the most powerful competitor research tool, especially with platforms like SpyFu, SEMrush, and Serpstat.
KWFinder: Powerful keyword research and analytics with SiteProfiler
Before anything else, remember that you can check your competitor’s keywords straight from the KWFinder tool.
All you need to do is perform your search under the ‘By Domain’ tab.
Within seconds, KWFinder will pull up your competitor’s top keywords – keyword metrics included.
Remember that KWFinder creates a different list for your competitor’s paid keywords.
You can check out these keywords by clicking ‘Paid keywords’ on the upper-right corner of the keyword list.
When looking at competitor keywords, KWFinder supplies metrics tailored to help with organic domain analysis.
Let’s take a quick look at these metrics:
- Position – This value indicates the highest search engine rank your competitor achieved for a keyword. However, it may not reflect the website’s real-time rank due to constant SERP ranking fluctuations.
- Search – KWFinder gets the average search engine volume of a keyword and logs it under the “Search” column. To check the latest search volume, simply hover your mouse over the average value.
- EV – Short for “Estimated Visits,” the EV metric measures the average monthly traffic your competitor gets for a keyword. This value is based on your competitor’s rankings, the keyword search volume, and your competitor’s click-through rate.
- CPC – Again, KWFinder lists down the respective CPC value of each competitor keyword. You can also change the CPC currency within a few clicks.
- PPC and KD – PPC and KD measure the paid and organic keyword difficulty, respectively. Keyword difficulty is calculated using the Link Profile Strength or LPS of the top 10 organic results.
Find anything interesting in your competitor’s keyword list?
To learn more about a keyword, click on it to magnify its keyword difficulty rating and search traffic trend.
KWFinder will also run a SERP overview of that keyword at the very bottom of the page.
Phew – we already covered a lot on KWFinder’s competitor research capabilities.
I didn’t even get to the cool part yet.
By purchasing access to KWFinder, you also get to use other Mangools tools – each with their specific purpose.
For competitor research, Mangools present their customers with SiteProfiler.
In simple terms, SiteProfiler is Mangools’s designated domain analysis tool.
Just plug in your competitor’s domain, click ‘Analyze,’ and you’re good to go.
SiteProfiler will then proceed to accomplish what Mangools tools do best:
Make in-depth data more readable by generating a clean, organized, and visual report page.
Take a gander at what it offers above the fold:
As you can see, the SiteProfiler report is cut into four sections:
- Overview – Uncover basic website metrics like Domain Authority, Page Authority, total Facebook shares, and so on.
- Backlinks – Analyze your competitor’s backlink profile, including their total backlink count, top referring domains, anchor texts, and more.
- Top Content – Spy on your competitor’s top pages in terms of referring domains and Facebook shares.
- Competitors – Take a look at other websites with shared keywords, including site metrics like Alexa Rank and their total Facebook shares.
Staying true to Mangools’s design language, everything in the SiteProfiler report is color-coded. This is useful for highlighting important details of the report.
Now, you may be asking: “what does this have to do with competitor keyword research?”
Here’s the deal: your competitor’s anchor texts can tell you a lot about their link building strategy. More specifically, it can help you understand how they incorporate keywords in their backlinks.
This allows you to fine-tune your own strategy to align with what works in your industry.
Besides, we’re near the end of this comparison. And I want to create a smooth transition to the next focal point of this comparison: backlinks.
KWFinder Competitor Keyword Research Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
Getting competitor keywords with KWFinder is a breeze – thanks to its streamlined keyword research interface.
It also helps turn competitor data into actionable insights. You can check out top pages, borrow ideas from their backlink profile, and investigate the competition through SERP analysis.
5. Backlink Analysis
Keyword Revealer has a potent backlink analysis tool baked in.
While KWFinder per se doesn’t have this, it allows access to the Mangools LinkMiner.
It’s a full-fledged – you guessed it – backlink analysis tool for Mangools subscribers.
Now that we got that cleared up, let’s talk about backlinks.
Keyword Revealer: Potentially an enterprise-grade backlink analysis tool
I cannot overstate how glad I was to know that Keyword Revealer has a backlink analysis feature.
More keyword research tools should integrate a backlink analysis feature in them. Fortunately, that seems to be the case with tools like Ubersuggest following suit.
But I digress.
As for Keyword Revealer, you can start looking at your competitor’s backlinks by going to the “Backlink Analysis” page.
Next, simply type your competitor’s domain in the main search field.
You can also enable the “one link per referring domain” option. This allows you to get a cleaner backlink profile report by eliminating duplicate referring domains.
It shouldn’t take long for Keyword Revealer to unwrap your competitor’s backlink profile.
In addition to the backlinks themselves, you’ll see important site metrics like Citation Flow, Alexa Rank, and external links. Keyword Revealer also shows the anchor texts used in each link.
Below each backlink, Keyword Revealer displays tags to help you know more about it.
You get to learn if:
- The backlink uses the “Dofollow” or “Nofollow” tag
- What language the backlink uses
- The backlink is embedded in an image
- The backlink is recently deleted
You can get a quick preview of the referring page on the “Website Preview” panel to the right.
Simply click on the backlink you want to analyze further and wait for the preview to load.
In some cases, it’s easy to see if the referring page is a guest post purposefully submitted by your competitor. If not, you can still get a good look at the type of websites that can supply you with backlinks.
At the very least, you should be able to look at content ideas where backlinks can be weaved in naturally.
Want a quicker way to look for a specific type of backlinks?
To focus specifically on new or lost backlinks, just switch to the right tab from the search bar.
Curiously, you have to enter the domain you want to analyze again.
It’s not a big deal, but it would’ve been infinitely better if you can seamlessly switch between different backlink types.
Keyword Revealer’s backlink analysis tool may also occasionally bug out.
When that happens, just try running your search again until the backlink list loads.
There’s also another bug wherein a referring domain’s Alexa Rank is shown to be “-1.”
That, of course, is impossible since the highest Alexa Rank value is “1.” And that’s only awarded to the internet giant Google Search itself.
Keyword Revealer Backlink Analysis Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars
Keyword Revealer’s backlink analysis tool has all the core features bloggers will need.
However, there are plenty of more powerful backlink analysis tools out there. And the fact that you may run into some bugs isn’t doing it any favors.
Understandably, Keyword Revealer’s backlink analysis tool is currently in beta. As such, there’s a good chance any bug you’ll encounter now will be ironed out in future versions.
KWFinder: Swiftly find potential backlinks with LinkMiner
By now, you should know that KWFinder is strictly a keyword research tool.
But then again, getting KWFinder also means getting everything Mangools has to offer.
LinkMiner is another one of Mangools’s juicy SEO tools.
To use it, you simply need to enter the domain or page URL you want to extract backlink information from.
Upon clicking ‘Find backlinks,’ LinkMiner will show you a backlinks list that looks strikingly similar to Keyword Revealer’s.
Firstly, you may notice that all of the backlink metrics you saw from Keyword Revealer is present here as well.
I’m talking about these:
- Citation Flow
- Trust Flow
- Number of External Links
- Alexa Rank
Just like Keyword Revealer, LinkMiner also shows the anchor text and target URL used in each backlink.
That said, here’s a simple reason why I think LinkMiner is better than Keyword Revealer’s backlink analysis tool:
LinkMiner has more backlink metrics at your disposal.
Apart from the ones mentioned above, LinkMiner will also show you two additional metrics: Facebook shares and Link Strength.
The Facebook shares metric is rather self-explanatory.
Link strength, on the other hand, calculates the backlink’s overall SEO value. It uses factors like Citation Flow, link attributes, Trust Flow, and so on.
If you want to look at new or lost backlinks, you can easily navigate to the ‘New’ or ‘Lost’ tab.
Unlike Keyword Revealer, you no longer have to type the domain or URL again. Simply click the ‘Search’ button with the arrow icon and you’re golden.
Just like Keyword Revealer, LinkMiner can show you a preview of the referring page.
Not just any preview –actual, interactive website previews for both mobile and desktop.
That means you can click, scroll, and play media from the preview while you search for backlinks.
KWFinder Backlink Analysis Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars
To be honest, Mangools’s LinkMiner simply looks like an updated and much better version of Keyword Revealer’s backlink analysis tool.
LinkMiner outclasses Keyword Revealer’s backlink analysis tool in almost every way – be it metrics, website previews, and overall stability.
While it’s still not to par with the best tools in the market, it’s not that far behind. That’s why I’ll give it 4.5 out of 5 stars.
6. Extra Features
Before we declare a winner, let’s have a quick review of Keyword Revealer and KWFinder’s extra features.
For the sake of fairness, we’ll only look at features related to keyword research.
After all, KWFinder is a part of a bigger, more expensive suite of SEO tools. It would be unfair to throw everything in Mangools’s arsenal at the cheaper Keyword Revealer.
Let’s make this quick.
Keyword Revealer Extra Features
- Keyword Brainstorming – You can use Keyword Revealer’s “Keyword Brainstorming” tool to fetch keyword ideas from Google Autocomplete. The tool is also capable of obtaining autocomplete-based keyword suggestions on YouTube.
- Save Searches for Later – Not quite done handpicking keywords from a massive list of ideas? Keyword Revealer lets you save your searches so you can pick up where you started later.
- Rank Tracker – Easily track your keyword rankings using Keyword Revealer’s built-in rank tracker. Get your average rankings, top keyword positions, visibility score, and more.
- Easy Export Button – Effortlessly export your keywords when you’re done crunching the numbers. You can choose to export all keywords, filtered keywords, or evaluated keywords.
- More Data on Keyword Evaluation Page – Keyword Revealer includes valuable competitor data when doing an in-depth evaluation. This includes the top 10 results’ domain strength, social presence, and on-page optimization strategies.
- Learning Resources – To help you make the most out of Keyword Revealer, you can refer to their library of learning resources. You can find step-by-step guides, tutorial videos, FAQs, and tips for account-related concerns.
KWFinder Extra Features
- Quick Autocomplete Suggestions – KWFinder consolidates autocomplete suggestions in the basic keyword list. I prefer this over having a separate tool for autocomplete keywords, but it lacks the ability to get YouTube keywords.
- Interactive Trend Chart – KWFinder zooms in on the selected keyword’s trend chart. There’s no need to load a detailed keyword evaluation page to see how a keyword’s traffic fluctuates over time.
- Quick Export Tool – You can quickly export selected keyword ideas to a CSV file with just two clicks. If you want, you can also copy keywords to your clipboard and paste them elsewhere.
- Night Mode – A lot of people who work on computers, including bloggers, now prefer darker screens. KWFinder can cater to these individuals with the “Dark Mode” option, which works like a charm.
- Keyboard Shortcuts – To boost your productivity with KWFinder, you can learn its built-in keyword shortcuts for certain functions. Some examples are selecting a keyword, adding keywords to a list, copying keywords, and navigating tables.
- In-Depth Keyword Research Guides – You can use the official KWFinder and keyword research guides to get the most value out of the platform. Each guide is broken down into sections like understanding keyword metrics, importing keywords, LSI keywords, and so on.
I don’t know about you, but I think both Keyword Revealer and KWFinder are pretty great.
It’s worth mentioning that both contenders have similar basic features that can help with keyword research.
This includes the following:
- Manually input keyword ideas or upload them from a list
- Check keywords in different languages
- Create keyword lists and projects
The Verdict
At this point, we’ve discussed just about everything there is to know about Keyword Revealer and KWFinder.
Before we pick a winner, I need to clarify something:
Regardless of the final score, Keyword Revealer and KWFinder are both excellent tools.
Nevertheless, it’s clear that there are things Keyword Revealer does better than KWFinder and vice versa.
And, on that note, let’s tally the final ratings.
1. Usability
Keyword Revealer: 4 out of 5 stars
KWFinder: 4.5 out of 5 stars
Both Keyword Revealer and KWFinder offer beginner-friendly user interfaces. Results load quick, navigation is intuitive, and keyword data is made more digestible.
KWFinder, however, is much closer to perfection than Keyword Revealer.
Bugs aside, KWFinder’s interface simply looks and feels more refined. It also pulls in keyword data much faster than Keyword Revealer.
The winner of this round is KWFinder.
2. Keyword Research
Keyword Revealer: 5 out of 5 stars
KWFinder: 4 out of 5 stars
Keyword Revealer and KWFinder would’ve been tied in terms of keyword suggestions if not for the pricing issues.
Unless you fork over $69 a month, you can only get 200 keyword suggestions per search with KWFinder.
That doesn’t seem so bad – until you remember that Keyword Revealer provides unlimited keyword ideas for only $9.97 per month.
The winner of this round is Keyword Revealer.
3. Keyword Research Filters
Keyword Revealer: 3.5 out of 5 stars
KWFinder: 4.5 out of 5 stars
A good keyword research tool has a reliable filter system that can help you separate the wheat from the chaff.
While Keyword Revealer’s filter tool does work, it doesn’t have a filter option for keyword difficulty. You can only sort keywords according to competitiveness if you’re looking at another website’s keywords.
KWFinder’s filter tool, on the other hand, is almost flawless.
It can filter keywords according to difficulty, search volume, CPC, number of words – you name it.
The winner of this round is KWFinder.
4. Competitor Keyword Research
Keyword Revealer: 4 out of 5 stars
KWFinder: 4 out of 5 stars
In terms of competitor keyword research, Keyword Revealer and KWFinder are dead even.
Both tools offer something different to help you analyze your competitors’ keyword strategy. The only reason they didn’t get a perfect score is because other platforms like SEMrush and SpyFu do it better.
This round is a draw.
5. Backlink Analysis
Keyword Revealer: 3.5 out of 5 stars
KWFinder: 4.5 out of 5 stars
In terms of raw functionality, Keyword Revealer and KWFinder’s backlink analysis tools are pretty close.
But since Keyword Revealer’s tool is still in beta, it’s understandably outclassed by KWFinder – more specifically, LinkMiner.
I guess that is to be expected since Mangools has been around for a long time. It’s years ahead of Keyword Revealer, which means its SEO tools are more developed.
The winner of this round is KWFinder.
Which one should you choose?
Let’s tally the numbers.
Keyword Revealer has a total of 20 stars out of 25.
Meanwhile, KWFinder sits at a comfortable lead with 21.5 stars out of 25.
As I dug into both tool’s features, one thing became clear to me:
Keyword Revealer and KWFinder aren’t exactly in the same weight class.
If we disregard pricing, Mangools simply has too many tools under its belt for Keyword Revealer to keep up.
So, if you have the budget, I recommend picking up KWFinder instead.
However, Keyword Revealer is still a great buy for the right people.
Despite losing to KWFinder, there are a few reasons to get Keyword Revealer:
- Looking for YouTube keywords – KWFinder isn’t really designed for YouTube keyword research. If you have a YouTube channel, Keyword Revealer can help you acquire potential keyword ideas.
- Working on a limited budget – For most new bloggers, KWFinder’s pricing plans can be too expensive to be cost-effective. Keyword Revealer is a great KWFinder alternative if you need to save money for other aspects of blog growth.
- Focusing on keyword research – If you only need a reliable keyword research tool, Keyword Revealer is a more practical option than KWFinder. It can provide you with mountains of keyword suggestions along with SERP metrics like domain strength and social presence.
Conclusion
There you have it – the full, side-by-side comparison of Keyword Revealer and KWFinder.
Long story short, you can do more with KWFinder than Keyword Revealer. That’s thanks to the rest of the Mangools collection of SEO tools.
Still, there are situations in which Keyword Revealer is the right choice. But no matter what you choose, I’m sure you both can help you get positive results for SEO or PPC.
